After legal studies at the University of Geneva and two years of practice at a Geneva law firm, Guy was called to the Geneva bar in 1979.
A former lecturer in the commercial law department of the University of Geneva for six years, Guy obtained his Doctor of Laws degree in 1977. He wrote his PhD on the sale and purchase agreement (Walther Hug Award), developing very early what would become a broad practice in commercial law.
Prior to joining Jean-Pierre, Guy worked for many years at several Geneva law firms.
Since 1996, Guy is also a Substitute Judge at the Geneva Cour de Justice and President Substitute at the Court of Appeals of the Employment Court (Tribunal des Prud’hommes).
Guy speaks at conferences and is the author of many legal publications, primarily in the fields of contract law and banking law.
Guy is a member of the Geneva Bar Association.
